- *It is important to be prepared for changing weather.
Dress in layers, which can be removed as you get hot from
walking. Cotton clothing is cold when wet, and is not
recommended. It is a good idea to have at least some wool
or synthetic clothing, and adequate rain gear. A rain
jacket, preferably breathable, works best, but is
expensive. A poncho alone may not keep you dry enough if
it is cold and rainy.
