Good News!

WELCOME!

Our new church website is up and running and that is good news!

Our hope is that you will use this website as a tool to stay informed about the latest happenings in the life of Valley Presbyterian Church (VPC). We also desire our website to be a place where you can find solid Biblical and theological content, (e.g. sermons, podcasts, blog posts, and links to other Reformed theological resources, etc.).

Please feel free to contact us at any time with your comments or questions.

Of course there is even better news, way better news than new websites or blog posts. The word gospel is translated quite literally "good news." And one of the clearest explanations we find in Scripture of the gospel is found in chapter 15 of Paul's first letter to the Corinthians.

Once a week over the next month or so we are going to unpack Paul's explanation and draw out some implications of the "good news" of the gospel.

For this week, however, I merely want to get the text that we will be considering before your eyes. Please read and reflect upon Paul's statement below.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4

Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you- unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.
